Ruderalis

Cannabis ruderalis is the third recognized species of cannabis, although it is less well-known than Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. It is a short and stocky plant, growing to a height of only 1-2.5 feet. It has thin, light green leaves and produces small buds with low levels of THC, which is the psychoactive compound responsible for the "high" associated with marijuana use.

One of the unique characteristics of Cannabis ruderalis is its ability to automatically flower based on age rather than light cycles, as is the case with Cannabis sativa and Cannabis indica. This means that ruderalis plants do not require a specific light schedule to start flowering, making them popular with growers for their quick growth cycles and ability to produce multiple crops in a single growing season.

Although Cannabis ruderalis is low in THC, it does contain other compounds such as CBD, which has been shown to have a range of potential therapeutic benefits, including reducing anxiety and pain, and improving sleep quality. For this reason, some breeders have started to cross Cannabis ruderalis with higher THC strains to create auto-flowering hybrid strains with a more balanced cannabinoid profile.

Overall, Cannabis ruderalis is an interesting and unique species of cannabis with its own set of characteristics that make it valuable to growers and potentially useful for medical and therapeutic purposes.
